Formerly an actor, director, and screen writer, Doug Barr moved from Hollywood to the Napa Valley in the mid 1990s. He partnered with Bruce Orosz to create Hollywood & Vine.

Located in the Spring Mountain AVA, Hollywood & Vine is a miniscule producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Founder Doug Barr previously lived and worked in Hollywood before moving to St Helena during the mid 1990s. Along with business partner Bruce Orosz, he soon caught the winemaking bug.
Celia Masyczek made Hollywood & Vine’s first vintage in 1998. She previously worked for the Staglin Family and Hartwell. The winery buys grapes from several small vineyards in the Napa Valley.
Hollywood & Vine produces small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. They are both labeled “2480.” This is the address of the property that Doug Barr purchased from Maynard Amerine, the famous UC Davis professor and author.
Two of the wineries recent releases are the 2002 Atlas Peak Chardonnay and the 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are highly sought after and difficult to find.
