Gryphon Wines is a Pinot Noir specialist that is based in the Anderson Valley AVA. The winery produces an Estate and Estate Reserve Pinot Noir as well as a crisp Chardonnay with no malolactic fermentation.

In 2000, Jonathon O’Bergin established Gryphon Wines. He has been growing grapes in Anderson Valley since 1978 and currently owns 8 acres of Pinot Noir. Environmentally friendly farming techniques are used in the vineyard.

Meticulous attention to detail is paid throughout the production process and each wine is carefully handcrafted using artisan techniques. These include using natural yeasts for fermentation, French barrel aging, and eschewing fining or filtering.

In addition to Pinot Noir, the winery also makes a small amount of Chardonnay. The 2004 Gryphon Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel tanks and did not undergo malolactic fermentation. This is an extremely refreshing wine with delicious apple flavors.
