Gnekow Family Winery makes wine using grapes from the Lodi and Sierra Foothills regions. The family has a beautiful tasting room that sells their wines as well as other specialty gifts.
The 2003 Campus Oaks Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel was made with fruit from 4 different properties. The average age of these vines is 90 years old. This wine has won many awards, most notably at the California State Fair.
The 2003 Campus Oaks Merlot was produced with grapes from Amador County in the Sierra Foothills. Aged in French oak, it has a delicious blend of cherry and vanilla flavors that are framed by velvety tannins.
The Gnekow Family’s “Cum Laude” series encompass their reserve wines. The 2002 Cum Laude Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel was produced from a single vineyard. It was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and made in limited quantities. The winery also makes the 2002 Magna Cum Laude Amador Old Vine Zinfandel and the 2002 Summa Cum Laude Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel to round out their premium offerings.
