Frangipani Estate Winery
Frangipani Estate Winery’s owner and winemaker Don Frangipani first learned winemaking in 1995, when he worked at Cilurzo winery. Utilizing his experience, Mr. Frangipani and his wife Joann purchased the estate in 2006 and began fulfilling their dream to create vibrant wines with a zeal for Bordeaux-style wines. The estate’s foundation Zinfandel vines are over 30 years-old.
In addition to Zinfandel, Frangipani Estate Winery grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. Mr. Frangipani also takes advantage of Malbec and Verdot. The winery produces about 4,000 cases of wine per year. Besides the reds, Frangipani produces a number of white wines, including Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Grenache Rosé.
Part of the De Portal Wine Trail, the winery, set amid olive trees and the vineyards, is of Spanish Villa style architecture. Special events often take place on the estate. During the summer, Frangipani Estate Winery plays host to Shakespeare performances and other celebrations like equestrian events. The estate prides itself on its country setting. Visitors can take advantage of the beautiful views of the Temecula Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Frangipani take pride in meeting with guests in the tasting room in order to pour wine and to answer questions.
Frangipani Estate Winery offers a two-tiered wine club, the Plumeria and the Gold Plumeria. With the former, members receive two bottles of wine, four times per year and receive discounts and monthly complimentary tastings. With the latter, members receive four bottles of wine, four times per year and receive discounts and monthly complimentary tastings.
