Christian Tietje is the winemaker and founder of Four Vines Winery. His wife, Susan A. Mahler, is also a partner and is an integral part of the vineyard management team. Bill Grant joined the winery in 2004 and contributes a keen business sense to the venture.
The 2003 Zinfandel Old Vine Cuvee was made with grapes from Sonoma and Paso Robles. This wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak and has nice fruit flavors over distinctive spiciness.
In addition to their Old Vine Cuvee, Four Vines also produces several other Zins. These include The Sophisticate 2004 Sonoma Zinfandel, The Maverick 2004 Amador County Zinfandel, The Biker 2004 Paso Robles Zinfandel, and Dusi Vineyards 2004 Paso Robles Zinfandel.
The 2004 Anarchy is a blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, and Mourvedre. This is an interesting blend of 3 assertive varietals. Each adds something to the cuvee, making for a full-bodied, spicy wine.
