Flora Springs Winery is located on Zinfandel Lane in the St Helena AVA. Grapes from several Napa Valley regions are used in their wines. Jerry and Flora Komes purchased the family’s first vineyard in the late 1970s.

Their son, John, is now the President and co-owner of Flora Springs. Before the career in the wine industry, Komes worked in construction in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1980, he hired Ken Deis as winemaker.

In 1975, Deis graduated from Fresno St. with a degree in Enology. During the early 1980s, he made a name for Flora Springs producing barrel fermented Chardonnay. It was one of the wines that defined what could loosely be called the California style of this grape.

Flora Springs is also known for their Trilogy Meritage, Soliloquy Sauvignon Blanc, and Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, and Rutherford Hillside Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The Hillside Reserve is made with grapes from the winery’s vineyard on the Rutherford Bench.
