Mark as Favorite

Fife Vineyards is owned by the formidable husband and wife team of Dennis Fife and Karen MacNeil. Both are highly respected wine professionals; MacNeil is a well-known wine writer and Fife has been involved in many aspects of the wine industry for years.

Among the more impressive parts of Dennis Fife’s resume include VP of Sales and Marketing at Beaulieu Vineyard and President of Inglenook. Fife has an Engineering Degree from UC Berkeley as well as an MBA from Stanford. His expertise is considerable and he has a deep understanding of every aspect of the winemaking and sales process from the vineyard to the bottle.

Mr. Fife is married to Karen MacNeil whom is also a highly credentialed wine expert. MacNeil wrote, “The Wine Bible,” which has furthered the knowledge of many wine lovers, including myself. She has written innumerable articles for major publications as well as hosted a television show about wine for PBS.

Fife Vineyards owns several properties in Northern California. Their primary winery is located on their Redhead Vineyard in Mendocino County’s Redwood Valley. Fife also shares production facilities with Angus Wertele at the Yverdon Winery in the Spring Mountain AVA.

Father and son Phil and Sam Baxter head the winemaking team. The Baxters have been family friends with Dennis Fife for years. Marion Cassin oversees marketing and direct sales.

Fife produces a number of wines that are always exciting to open. Although best known for their Bordeaux blends, they make excellent Zinfandel as well as several Rhone varietals. Dennis Fife is also a great proponent of the weighty Petite Sirah grape.
