Ferrari Carano

Mark as Favorite

Ferrari Carano owns several different vineyards throughout Sonoma County. They make an excellent Merlot with grapes from the Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley AVAs.

Ferrari Carano owns 18 vineyard properties that are located in the Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Carneros. George Bursick is the winemaker and Steve Domenichelli is the vineyard manager. These two men produce a number of excellent wines that are also priced very well.

The Ferrari Carano 2001 Merlot is made from Merlot grapes from Dry Creek and Alexander Valley. This a fruit-driven wine with balanced tannins. It is not too overpowering and is food-friendly.

The Ferrari 2001 Sienna is a flavorful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot. The Cab and Merlot give this wine structure, while the Sangiovese adds a vibrant touch. I enjoyed it young, but it could clearly age for several years.

An extremely popular wine, the Ferrari Carano 2002 Chardonnay is produced with grapes from 8 different vineyards. The result is a complex Chardonnay that has earned the reputation of being one of America’s favorites.
