Fantesca Estate is a small Napa Valley winery that was established by Duane and Susan Hoff in 2002. They produce an Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain and Chardonnay from Carneros.

Fantesca Estate is in the southeastern part of the Spring Mountain AVA. Many of the 8 acres of vines are planted on steep hillsides. Fantesca’s Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a fruit forward, very ripe style.
Father and son team, Nils and Kirk Venge, are the winemakers. Both have enology degrees from UC Davis. Kirk has been making wine for Fantesca since their first vintage in 2002. He grew up in Rutherford and has been assisting his father in the cellar since he was a child.
Fantesca owns a state of the art production facility and wine cave on their Spring Mountain property. In addition to estate Cab, the winery also makes a Chardonnay with grapes sourced from the Carneros AVA.
The Fantesca 2005 Carneros Chardonnay is beautifully balanced wine with just enough oak to supplement its well integrated fruit. It has apple and tropical fruit flavors with a hint of vanilla from moderate oak age.

Fantestca makes some of the best cab on spring mountain. I tried their 2002 cab at a friends house and was very impressed. I had to buy a half case of their 03 cab, and the first bottle was very, very good.
