Before starting Eric Ross Winery, Luse and Storey were both photographers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The winery’s tasting room is located just south of the town of Glen Ellen in Sonoma Valley.
In the winery, no detail is overlooked. During fermentation, the cap is punched down by hand and the wines are aged in French and/or American oak to varying degrees.
Eric Ross makes two Old Vine Zinfandels and a Port with Sonoma County fruit. The Occidental Vineyard Zin is all about balance while the Feney Ranch Vineyard Zin is bolder. The 2004 Russian River Valley Old Vine Zinfandel Port is made with grapes from Feeney Ranch.
Eric Ross Winery also makes an Old Vine Carignane, Viognier, Syrah, Chardonnay, and two Pinot Noirs including Saralee’s Vineyard and Poulet d’Or. The 2004 Poulet d’Or Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of the best barrels from the vintage.
