Ehlers Estate is owned by the non-profit Leducq Foundation whose stated mission is to support breakthroughs in cardiovascular research. The winery makes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc.

In 1886, Bernard Ehlers founded Ehlers Estate in St Helena. The winery is currently owned by the Leducq Foundation. Established by Jean Leducq in 1996, this is a non-profit that is dedicated to cardiovascular research.
Rudy Zuidema is the winemaker and vineyard manager at Ehlers Estate. He previously worked for St Clement, Honig Vineyard, Cuvaison Winery, and Robert Craig Wine Cellars. Zuidema uses biodynamic and environmentally friendly farming techniques.
The 2003 St Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 1886 is made with the best grapes grown on the estate. It was aged in French oak for 20 months. 445 cases were produced. The 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with a bit of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The 2003 Korte Ranch Zinfandel is a full-bodied wine with 16.3% alcohol. Ehlers Estate also makes and Estate Cabernet Franc, Napa Valley Merlot, and Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
