Dutcher Crossing Winery is owned by Bruce Nevins and Jim Stevens. Before establishing their winery in 2001, Mr. Nevins and Mr. Stevens operated Perrier North America for over 30 years. They have built a beautiful tasting room with views of the surrounding estate vineyards.
In addition to growing their own grapes, the Nevins and Stevens Families also source fruit from some of the best properties in Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley. These include Taylor Vineyard, Maple Vineyard, and Stuhlmuller Vineyards. Additionally, the Nevins Family owns a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Alexander Valley.
The 2005 Dutcher Crossing Maple Vineyard Zinfandel recently won a Gold Medal at the prestigious 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The grapes used to make this wine were grown on the “Twisted Oak Block” of Maple Vineyard in Central Dry Creek Valley.
Dutcher Crossing makes a number of other excellent wines including the 2003 Taylor Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Nevins Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Proprietors Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005 Costello Vineyard Chardonnay, 2005 Stuhlmuller Vineyard Chardonnay, 2005 Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc, and 2004 Dutcher Crossing Port-style wine.
