Drew is a small wine label that is based in the Mendocino Ridge AVA. The winery focuses entirely on small lots of Pinot Noir and Syrah. Each of the wines is made to reflect the terroir of the vineyards.

Jason and Molly Drew established the Drew label in 2000. Before starting their venture, Jason already had extensive experience in the wine industry. Beginning in 1980, he worked in Stags Leap before becoming Associate Winemaker at the venerable Babcock Vineyards.

Drew produces wines from Mendocino Ridge, Anderson Valley, Yorkville Highlands, Sonoma Coast, and Santa Rita Hills. Jason is an exception amongst the prevailing attitude of many winemakers to extract as much flavor from the grapes as possible and in the process produce high alcohol wines. His philosophy is a breath of fresh air: balance is his ultimate goal.

The 2005 Drew Cargasacchi Jalama Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown slightly west of the Santa Rita Hills AVA. The climate here is decidedly coastal, imparting nice acidity in this wine. It was aged in 30% new French oak for 11 months. 200 cases were produced.

The winery makes a number of other outstanding wines including the 2005 Yorkville Highlands Weir Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2005 Sonoma Coast MacDougall Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2005 Anderson Valley Fogeater Pinot Noir, and the 2004 Santa Ynez Valley Morehouse Vineyard Syrah.
