Mark as Favorite

Del Dotto Vineyards is a family owned winery that has been making small amounts of wine for over a decade. They own several vineyard properties in some of California’s most prestigious AVAs.

Region: Napa Valley
Sub Region: Rutherford
Wine: View all wines

Del Dotto Vineyards is a premium producer of Napa and Sonoma wines. Their estate vineyard is located in the Rutherford AVA, but they are currently completing production facilities in St Helena. Their Rutherford property is really just the tip of the iceberg; Del Dotto owns vineyards in St Helena, Howell Mountain, and the Sonoma Coast as well.

They have historically focused on Bordeaux varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The winery has also had success with Sangiovese from Napa, and Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast. They are planning on making a Chardonnay shortly.

Owner Dave Del Dotto is an expert at how different barrels affect different varietals during the aging process. He educates other winemakers on the subtleties of 40 different cooperages from France, America, and Russia.

Del Dotto’s seven different vineyards are planted with 96 acres of vines. Their Rutherford Estate Vineyard has 12 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. Vineyard 887 is in St Helena and contains 9 acres of Cab. The other properties are located in Howell Mountain, St Helena, and the Sonoma Coast.
