Based in St Helena, Dain Wines is a group of winemakers who buy grapes from carefully selected vineyards. The produce their wines at CrushPad in San Francisco. Dain’s Pinot Noir and Syrah are both very popular. The winemakers name many of their wines after their ancestors.
Sourced grapes include Pinot Noir from Brosseau Vineyard in Chalone, Pinot Noir from Alder Springs in Mendocino County, Pinot from Amber Ridge and Darien Vineyard in Russian River Valley, Pinot Noir from Rancho Ontiveros from Santa Maria Valley, and Syrah from Las Madres in Carneros.
American Beauty is made with Pinot Noir grown on Amber Ridge in the Russian River Valley AVA. It was fermented with 5% whole clusters for 19 days and aged in 100% French oak.
Sojorn is made with Syrah from the Carneros AVA. This wine was cold soaked for 4 days and then fermented for 19 days with 15% whole clusters. It was aged in 100% French oak before bottling.
