Curtis Winery

Curtis Winery has made a name for itself by producing exclusively Rhone style wines. Their flagship wine is without question Syrah. Curtis’ two vineyards produce Syrah grapes that embody the local geology and climate.

Curtis Winery specializes in producing Rhone varietals. Winemaker Chuck Carlson uses his criteria of physiological ripeness to determine when it is time to pick the grapes.
Their 20 acre Ambassador’s Vineyard is solely dedicated to Syrah. Each vineyard block is carefully managed as a distinct entity. The vines are planted in soils primarily made of gravelly loam and benefit from long, warm days and cool, foggy nights. Wines made with this fruit are known for their white pepper and spice aromas and flavors.
The winery’s Crossroads Vineyard is located on a more fertile piece of land. In response, Curtis uses vigor-limiting rootstocks.
Curtis is expanding its wine list into other Rhone style wines to complement their Syrah. They are now producing Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache and Mourvedre.
