Wine Tours - Visiting Cottonwood Canyon
The Beko Family founded Cottonwood Canyon Winery in 1988. The 78-acre estate is surrounded by the San Rafael Mountains and receives a lot of sun and cool marine breezes and light Pacific fog. This climate allows for better acid and sugar development. The winery is part of the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail.
Cottonwood Canyon focuses on the Burgundy style of winemaking. The wines produced reflect the terroir and geography of its origin. Cottonwood is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Visitors may visit the tasting room in Santa Barbara. The estate is located in Santa Maria and has tastings on the weekends. The vineyards are planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah.
Cottonwood Canyon also offers its winery for special events such as weddings. The wine cave is available for events. Guests can utilize the covered patio area as well. Cottonwoods wine cave is the only cave in Santa Maria. At 6,000 square feet, the wine caves house barrel rooms and the Cask Room, which is used for special events. Cave tours are available on the weekends by appointment. Guests may taste the Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Riesling, Syrahs, the red blends, Cabernet Franc, sparkling dessert whites and Zinfandel. The wine club offers many specials to members. The staff of Cottonwood Canyon also is willing to make wine and food pairing suggestions.
