Conn Creek Winery has been producing award winning Rutherford wines for over three decades. Since their inaugural vintage in 1974, Conn Creek has specialized in Cabernet Sauvignon and the other Bordeaux grapes.
They currently produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a Bordeaux blend called Anthology. Since the first vintage of Anthology in 1991, this wine has been particularly embraced by the wine press.
Winemaker Jeff McBride graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in biochemistry. He began making wine for Conn Creek in 2003. McBride uses a combination of estate grown and purchased grapes.
Located near the Conn Creek watershed, the winery’s estate vineyard has particularly well drained soils that are made of a combination of gravel and sand. Originally established in 1980, the property was replanted in 2001. The microclimate, terrain, and aspect of this land is perfect for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon.
Conn Creek Winery also sources grapes from a handful of other premium vineyards. These include Palisades Ranch at the base of Mount St Helena, Collins Vineyard near Calistoga, and Stagecoach Vineyard in the Atlas Peak AVA.
