Chateau Souverain

Chateau Souverain is located about 10 miles northeast of Alexander Valley Vineyards. Vineyards are grown on the western bench of the Russian River. Several experts have argued that Cabs grown in the more gravelly, western soils have stronger tannins than their eastern counterparts.

Chateau Souverain is located in the Alexander Valley AVA. Ed Killian is the head winemaker and currently produces about 200,000 cases of wine a year. Mr. Killian is renowned for making high quality wines at affordable prices. These are some of the best buys in Sonoma County.
Along with the winery, the Alexander Valley Grille is also located on the property. Martin Courtman is the executive chef and makes a range of delicious dishes with only the freshest ingredients.
Chateau Souverain’s 2001 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a tremendous value. This highly-rated wine impresses year after year. It is better than many Cabs that cost twice as much.
The 2001 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is sourced from vineyards in Dry Creek. The most conspicuous feature of this wine is the forward fruit flavors. If you like fruit dominated Zins, this is a good choice.
