Chateau Felice is located on a beautiful piece of property in the eastern hills of the Russian River Valley AVA. Chalk Hill is an elevated, relatively warm part of its parent wine region. Barry and Phyllis Rodgers own 24 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay.
Before establishing Chateau Felice, Barry was an investment banker and an aerospace executive. Phyllis worked as a software consultant. Because both of them have extensive business experience, Barry and Phyllis take a very hands-on approach to their new venture.
The 2004 Estate Chardonnay has a beautiful golden color. It has flavors of citrus, pears, and apricots with a bit of spice and vanilla from 11 months of French oak age. This wine was barrel fermented sur lies.
Chateau Felice’s other available wines include the 1999 and 2001 American Celebration (blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), and the 2000 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
