Caymus Vineyards
In 1972, Charlie Wagner, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner and their son, "Chuck" Wagner established Caymus Vineyards. The winery has always specialized in Cabernet Sauvignon and makes two wines with the grape.

Charlie Wagner had considerable foresight to plant his property with Cab in the 1960s. He planted his land with clones from Nathan Fay. Born on the family farm, Chuck Wagner has a thorough knowledge of his 60 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon.
He became winemaker in 1984 and has since risen to the top of his profession. The critically acclaimed Special Selection is one of the top Cabs made in Rutherford.
Since the winery’s inception, Caymus has been producing Cabs that rival the world’s best. The Caymus Special Selection is particularly esteemed. 1975 was the first vintage of this legendary wine. The winery is named after the Caymus Rancho. In 1836, this property was granted to George Yount by General Vallejo.
