Cakebread Cellars has built its reputation on Chardonnay. Owner and founder Jack Cakebread has been producing wine for over 30 years. Cakebread’s Chardonnays are consistently some of the best from the Golden State.

The first Cakebread Cellars vintage was bottled in 1973. The 157 cases that were produced were sold to a local wine shop in Yountville. Cakebread has built their reputation on crisp, clean Chardonnays. Grapes are grown in the cool climate of Carneros and aged in French oak barrels.
In addition to their Napa Valley Chardonnay, Cakebread also produces; Sauvignon Blanc, Anderson Valley Chardonnay, Russian River Chardonnay, Reserve Chardonnay, Rubaiyat, Carneros Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Cab, Zinfandel, a Benchland Select Cab, Three Sisters Cab, and a Vinehill Ranch Cab. Tastings are by appointment only.
The Cakebread Family does more than produce premium quality wine. They are also staunch advocates of healthy living. They are at the forefront of the “American Healthy-Eating Movement,” and host a four day seminar to promote healthy cooking, eating and drinking.

Cakebread Cellars to Release Zinfandel after a 10 Year Hiatus
Cakebread Cellars has had an on-again, off-again love affair with Zinfandel. They stopped Zin production in 1994, only to resume this year, releasing their 2004 Red Hills Zinfandel at the 16th annual Zinfandel festival Jan 24th – 27th in San Francisco, Ca.
