Bressler Vineyards is a 5 acre property in the western part of the St Helena AVA. There are some heavy hitters in this part of the Napa Valley, and Bressler’s neighbors include Hayne Vineyard and Andy Beckstoffer’s Crane Vineyard.
Owners Bob and Stacey Bressler produce only 300 cases of premium quality Cabernet Sauvignon each year. David Abreu is the vineyard manager and Mia Klein is the winemaker. In 2001, Abreu field-grafted some of the Cab vines with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petite Verdot to give the Bresslers some blending grapes.
Before founding his winery, Bob Bressler worked as a scientist for Sun Microsystems. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and brings his highly developed analytical skills to his new career as a vintner.
Stacy also has an extensive technological background and previously worked for Hewlett-Packard and Apple Computer. She has also written several books about integrating technology with business development.
Bressler Vineyards most recent release is their 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon. According to Stacy, this vintage is more fruit forward and approachable that the 2001 was. Robert Parker had rave reviews for this wine.
