Few wineries take the necessary steps that Bravante Vineyards does to ensure the utmost quality of their wines. Amazingly, the work force at Bravante hand picks grapes in 5 pound trays to retain the utmost integrity of the fruit. This is a lengthy, expensive process that culminates in memorable wines.
Bravante owns two distinct properties in the Howell Mountain AVA: Stone Ridge Vineyard and Black Oak Vineyard. Both grow red Bordeaux varietals in the mountain terroir.
Stone Ridge is situated on a volcanic bench at an elevation of 1,680 feet above sea level. It is planted with 5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.5 acres of Merlot, and 1.5 acres of Cabernet Franc. Black Oak Vineyard is comprised of 1.7 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and .75 acres of Cabernet Franc.
Bravante Vineyards produces 4 different estate wines from these 2 estate properties. These wines include the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain Merlot, Estate Meritage “Simpatico,” and Estate Meritage “Trio.”
