Bradford Mountain Winery produces wines from very low yielding vineyards planted at 1,000 feet above Dry Creek Valley floor. In 1998, George Hambrecht built a production facility on his estate, and his been making his own wines ever since.
Great care is taken in both the vineyard and the winery at Bradford Mountain. Hambrecht wisely invested in state-of-the-art winemaking equipment rather than hiring expensive architects and landscapers. 1998 was his inaugural vintage. That year, Mr. Hambrecht produced 1,837 cases of Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 75 acre hillside vineyard is comprised of 60 acres of Zinfandel and 15 acres of Syrah. In addition to estate fruit, Bradford Mountain Winery sources grapes from a handful of premium growers.
The winery’s current releases include the 2003 Grist Vineyard Zinfandel (1,593 cases), 2002 Sonoma County Zinfandel (811 cases), and the 2003 Grist Vineyard Syrah (503 cases).
