Bonterra Vineyards is located in the Mendocino AVA just south of the town of Ukiah. This 378 acre vineyard is located on the elevated benchlands that border the Russian River.

Organic farming is a very important part of the philosophy at Bonterra Vineyards. In winemaker Robert Blue’s words, “Only organically grown grapes can express the purity and intensity of varietal character that a truly great wine requires.” Mr. Blue works closely with vineyard manager David Koball to make wines that reflect the land.

Bonterra Vineyards is a large property that has several different microclimates and soil types. Merlot is grown in the alluvial soils closer to the Russian River while Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are planted on the hillsides.

Bonterra currently offers several wines including the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Merlot, 2005 Roussanne, 2005 Chardonnay, 2005 Viognier, 2003 Syrah, 2005 Muscat, 2004 Zinfandel, 2004 Syrah/Carignane blend, and 2005 Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc blend.
