Baywood grows several different varietals in their vineyards. They own a number of vines along the Monterey Coast in the Salinas Valley. The majority of their Monterey Coast Vineyards are located in the Salinas Valley. The Cottas also own vineyards on their estate in Lodi.
They grow mainly Rhone varietals in their home vineyard. The property is cooled by breeze from the Delta and San Francisco Bay. This is one of the main aspects of Lodi that separates it from other Central Valley growing regions.
Winemaker John Cotta brings over 20 years of experience to the table. He has produced wines from almost every major California region. Cotta produces several differ white and red varietals.
Baywood’s white wines include the Monterey Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, and a wine made from the “Symphony” varietal which is a cross between Grenache Gris and Muscat. Their reds include the Monterey Merlot Grand Reserve, Pinot Noir Grand Reserve, and Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Reserve.
