Marty Bannister is the owner and winemaker of Bannister Wines. She produces small amounts of handcrafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with grapes grown in the Russian River Valley AVA.

In 1989, Marty Bannister established Bannister Wines in the Russian River Valley AVA. In addition to her winemaking and ownership duties at the winery, Ms. Bannister is also the CEO and Proprietor of Vinquiry Inc. Vinquiry is a consulting company that focuses on wine technology.

Marty Bannister has always had a great love of food and wine. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Foods and Nutrition before embarking on her winemaking and consulting career.

The 2003 vintage of Bannister Wines consists of 2 Chardonnays and a Pinot Noir. The 2003 Russian River Rochioli & Allen Vineyards Chardonnay is made with grapes grown on 2 adjacent properties. Joe Rochioli owns Rochioli Vineyard and also manages Allen Vineyard right next door. This wine was whole cluster pressed to retain the grapes’ natural finesse. 377 cases were made.

The 2003 Russian River Valley Salzgeber Vineyard Pinot Noir is made with grapes grown in well-drained, gravelly soils. The fruit for this wine was hand harvested and punched down twice a day in open top fermentation containers. It was aged in French oak for 10 months before bottling. 221 cases of this wine were produced.
