Baldacci Family Vineyards is a boutique producer in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap AVA. Owner Thomas Baldacci is the grandson of Italian immigrants and grew up enjoying wine in moderation.
In 1977, Mr. Baldacci purchased his property in the emerging Stags Leap wine region. Although vineyards were planted on the land decades early, they fell into disrepair in the aftermath of Prohibition.
Baldacci knows that he has premium quality grapes, and interferes with their natural flavors as little as possible during the production process. This task is entrusted to Rolando Herrera, Baldacci’s head winemaker.
Herrera has been working in the local wine industry for more than two decades. His first job was at Warren Winiarski’s Stags Leap Cellars. He also worked at Vine Cliff Winery and Chateau Potelle. Herrera is a Cabernet Sauvignon specialist, but also makes Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
