Arthur Earl, along with its sister winery, Alexander & Wayne, is owned by Arthur White and Earl Brockelsby. Founded in 1996, this winery was established so that the two friends could produce as many California varietals as possible. Arthur Earl specializes in Rhone, Spanish and Northern Italian style wines. All grapes are sourced from local growers along the Central Coast.
The tasting room is located in downtown Los Olivos and attached to Alexander & Wayne Winery. Wines include Malvasia Bianca, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Pinot Grigio and a red blend called Il Re. The French varietals include Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Viognier and a blend called A Genoux. The Spanish wines are a blend known as Asevala and Tempranillo. Arthur Earl keeps its production of each variety low to ensure quality and complexity. Only 50 to 300 cases of each variety is produced.
Visitors can enjoy the gift shop, which also has wine accessories for sale. Wine club members receive free tastings at both Arthur Earl and at Alexander & Wayne. Special events and winemaker dinners are available. All wines are sold via the website or by visiting the tasting room. Wines available for tasting change frequently, so that return visitors always have a new experience.
