Established by John Copeland and Al McWilliams, Arista Winery is located in the Russian River Valley AVA. Copeland and McWilliams buy grapes from several small properties. These include Ferrington Vineyard, Mononi Vineyard, and Toboni Vineyard. Additionally, they recently planted their own estate vineyard.
Leslie Sisneros is the winemaker at Arista. She began her career working for Kendall Jackson and has also made wine for Chateau St Jean, Rodney Strong, Haywood, and John Culbertson Wineries.
Arista’s 2004 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was made with grapes from Ferrington, Mononi, and Toboni Vineyards. It was aged in 100% French oak for 11 months. 714 cases of this wine were produced.
The 2004 Arista Winery Longbow Pinot Noir gets its name from the fact that Pinot production and using a longbow are both very difficult skills to master. Like the previous wine, the grapes are from Ferrington, Mononi, and Toboni Vineyards. It was also aged in 100% French oak for 11 months, but only 220 cases were made.
