Alpha Omega Winery has a prime location on Highway 29 in the Rutherford AVA. Owners Robin Baggett and Eric Sklar own vineyards in Rutherford, St Helena, and Carneros. They also buy grapes from a handful of premium growers.
Robin graduated from Cal Poly and Hastings Law School. Before starting Alpha Omega, he planted and grew grapes in Edna Valley for several years.
Eric Sklar’s family has been growing grapes in Napa Valley for almost three decades. Their home vineyard now provides estate fruit for Alpha Omega. It is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. Eric has degrees from UC Berkeley, London School of Economics, and a Georgetown MBA.
Jean Hoefliger is the winemaker and Michael Rolland consults at Alpha Omega. They have access to grapes from several regions including Rutherford, Oakville, Atlas Peak, Carneros, Yountville, Coombsville, and Pope Valley. They also have a winemaker’s blog.
