  • Brander Vineyard

    Brophy Clark Cellars is a joint effort of John Clark and Kelley Brophy Clark. They found the winery in 1996. Ms. Brophy Clark received advance degrees in agricultural science with a specialization in viticulture. The family lives in Nipomo and focuses on Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Syrah.

    Buttonwood Farm Winery

    At 39 acres, the Buttonwood Farm Winery rests in Santa Ynez Valley American Viticultural Appellation. This location is excellent for growing Bordeaux and Rhone style grapes. The farm was started over 40 years ago as a dream of Betty Williams, who wished to establish a self-sustaining farm.

    Byron Winery

    Byron Winery was once part of the Robert Mondavi Corporation and is now owned by Constellation. Founder Ken Brown was an early advocate of Rhone varietals, but focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the cool climate.

    Cambria Estate Winery

    Barbara Banke purchased a section of Tepusquet Vineyard, in Santa Maria Valley, in 1986. This acquisition marked the beginning of Cambria Estate Winery. Since then, many of the original rootstocks have been replanted to suit the climate and geology of the area. Ms. Banke remains in management over all aspects of the winery.

    Carhartt Vineyard

    Mike and Brooke Carhartt planted the vineyard in 1996. The ten-acre property is on the site of Rancho Santa Ynez and sits atop a mesa. The Carhartt tasting room in downtown Los Olivos is considered very small, but it is the only place where the Carhartt label is sold.

    Carina Cellars

    Carina Cellars is named for one of the star clusters of the Argo Navis constellation. Carina Cellars sources its Rhone style grapes from vineyards on the Central Coast. David Hardee and Joey Tensley decided to partner their talents and start Carina Cellars.

    Carr Vineyards & Winery

    Carr Vineyards & Winery released its first vintage in 1999. Carr sources its grapes from growers in Santa Barbara County. The winery focuses on Pinot Noir which is very successful in the Santa Rita Hills. It also produces Syrah, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc.

    Clos Pepe

    Winemaker Wes Hagen crafts Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at Clos Pepe. Mr. Hagen was named the Central Coast Winegrower’s Association Grower of the Year in 2001-2002. His wife Chanda also helps with the grape growing and winemaking process.
