York Mountian Wineries (Back to overview)
There are three York Mountain wineries in the western hills of Paso Robles. This small AVA is located near the town of Cayucos about 7 miles from the coast.
York Mountain Winery
York Mountain Winery was established in the late 19th century. The winery is truly a historic landmark in California Wine Country. York Mountain specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but also makes Roussanne, Viognier, and Zinfandel.
Stephens Cellar
Located in the York Mountain AVA, Stephens Cellar specializes in producing Pinot Noir. Owner Steve Goldman has lived in the region for years. He is the son of Max Goldman, who bought York Mountain Winery in 1970.
Shadow Canyon Cellars
Shadow Canyon Cellars is located high above the Pacific Ocean in the Santa Lucia Mountains. Their hillside vineyard is planted exclusively with Syrah. Attention to detail from budbreak to bottling ensures a consistent, quality product.
