Paso Robles Wineries (Back to overview)

The Paso Robles AVA is one of the largest in California. There are currently over wineries and over 25,000 acres of vineyards in the region. Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon are the most popular grapes.
Castoro Cellars
Castoro Cellars makes a variety of wines, but is best known for its Zinfandel. It is made in a relatively light style, but does not lack flavor concentration. Castoro’s Tempranillo and Pinot Blanc are also very good.
Justin Vineyards
Justin Vineyards is owned by Justin and Deborah Baldwin. It is and located a few miles east of the Paso Robles AVA. The winery produces the excellent Isosceles blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They also produce several Italian, Rhone, and Burgundian varietals.
Dover Canyon Winery
Dover Canyon Winery is located in the northwest part of the Paso Robles AVA. This is an unpretentious yet premium quality producer that really sums up what Paso Robles has become famous for.
Tablas Creek Winery
Tablas Creek Winery is located in the western foothills of the Paso Robles AVA. Partners Robert Haas and the Perrin Family own an amazing vineyard site with soils that are very similar to the best sites in the Rhone Valley.
Anglim Winery
Anglim Winery is a small, family owned Paso Robles producer that specializes in Viognier and Syrah. Anglim carefully sources grapes from only the best small grape growers.
Four Vines Winery
Four Vines Winery is based in Paso Robles, but also makes wine from Napa, Sonoma, and Amador Counties. Four Vines focuses mainly on Zinfandel and Rhone varietals, but also makes Tempranillo and Chardonnay.
Eberle Winery
Just off Highway 46, you will find Eberle Winery. Gary Eberle has a long history in Paso Robles and has been making wine since the early 1970s. He specializes in grapes from the Rhone, Bordeaux, and Italy.
Echelon Vineyards
Echelon Vineyards is located in San Miguel and is part of the Chalone Wine Group. They source grapes from different vineyards throughout Central Coast and Clarksburg AVAs. Echelon's wines include Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
J Lohr Vineyards
Located in the Paso Robles AVA, J Lohr Vineyards is owned by Jerome J Lohr. Before establishing his vineyards, he had already been farming in California for many years. The winery currently produces about one-half a million cases of wine annually.
Peachy Canyon Winery
A quaint, former school house off of Highway 46 is home to the tasting room of Peachy Canyon Winery. This historic structure was built in 1886. Peachy Canyon specializes in Zinfandel.
Chumeia Vineyards
Chumeia Vineyards is a Zinfandel specialist located in the Paso Robles AVA. Chumeia means “alchemy” in Ancient Greek, and refers to the mystical transformation of turning grapes into wine.
Adelaida Cellars
In 1981, the Van Steenwyk Family established Adelaida Cellars in the northwest hills of the Paso Robles AVA. The winery makes 4 different labels: Reserve, White, SLO and Schoolhouse.
Donati Family Vineyards
Donati Family Vineyards and Winery in located in the Paicines AVA in San Benito County. Owners Ron and Matt Donati grow mainly Bordeaux varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay.
Meridian Vineyards
Meridian Vineyards is a large producer based in the Paso Robles AVA. Despite the winery’s high volume, they have been able to retain good quality, making them a favorite of consumers and critics alike.
Summerwood Winery
The beautiful, rolling hills of Western Paso Robles are the home of Summerwood Winery and Inn. Their single vineyard Syrahs are exceptional.

President's Day Weekend I'll be taking four days to enjoy local hiking and tasting, including barrel tastings at Eberle and Le Cuvier. I love the area's zins, cabs, and pinots.
