Santa Clara Valley Wineries (Back to overview)

The majority of the Santa Clara Valley wineries are concentrated in the southern part of the AVA. Away from the technology industry that dominates the north, this part of the region is still quite rural in nature. A number of small family wineries still thrive here.
Creekview Vineyards
Creekview Vineyards was established in 2005 and released their first vintage in 2007. The winery and vineyards are situated in the hillsides just east of the town of San Martin in the Santa Clara Valley wine region.
Mirassou Vineyards
Mirassou Vineyards is a premium winery in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Mirassou Family has been making wine for over 150 years.
Thomas Kruse Winery
Thomas Kruse Winery produces 2,500 cases of estate wine each year. Tom and Karen Kruse own a beautiful tasting room and picnic area in the hills east of the town of Gilroy in Santa Clara Valley.
Sapid Wines
Sapid Wines is based in the Santa Clara County AVA. The winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay with grapes grown in the Central Coast AVA.
Hecker Pass Winery
Mario Fortino is the owner and winemaker of Hecker Pass Winery. His son, Carlo, is also involved in the family business. Mario and Carlo make many different wines, but there Petite Sirah and Zinfandel are especially good.
Fortino Winery
In 1970, Ernest Fortino established Fortino Winery. The winery makes many different wines, but specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Charbono, and Chardonnay.
Guglielmo Winery
Guglielmo Winery is a boutique wine producer that is family owned and operated. The Guglielmo Family is very proud of their Northern Italian heritage, and it shows through their limited quantity production.
