San Benito Wine Country

One of the best San Benito Wineries is located in the Mount Harlan AVA. They have been at the forefront of New World Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production for many years, and produce some of the best San Benito Wine that you can buy.

Just to the east, the Cienega Valley has the most developed wine industry of any AVA in San Benito Wine Country. Several wineries recently opened tasting rooms, and there are plans to start a “wine trail” that will attract visitors interested in taking local wine tours between the San Benito Wineries.

The Lime Kiln sub-AVA is home to mostly grape growers. While there are only 100 acres of local vineyards, these grapes have been highly valued for over three decades. There is the only one bonded winery in this part of San Benito Wine Country.

The southernmost AVA in San Benito Wine Country is Paicines, which has a very warm climate. During summer, daytime temperatures can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. But the region enjoys cool winds during the evening and overnight. This poses a difficult task for San Benito Wineries.
