Yountville Wineries (Back to overview)
There are many impressive Yountville wineries located in the southern part of the Napa Valley AVA. Because temperatures are cooler here than upvalley, local wine production is not as dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon.
Domaine Chandon
Domaine Chandon is one of the leading producers of sparkling wine in California. The winery uses grapes from Yountville, Carneros, and Mount Veeder to produce their excellent bubbly.
Dominus Estate
The Dominus Estate Vineyard grows high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the predominant grape used in their premium blends. The winery is located in the western hills of Napa Valley in the Yountville AVA.
Gemstone Vineyard
Gemstone Vineyard produces extremely small quantities of extraordinary wine. The 2001 vintage set the Barrel Lot record at last year’s Napa Valley auction at an amazing $10,000 per case.
Bell Wine Cellars
Bell Wine Cellars was originally a small winery in Carneros. With increasing demand for their premium wines, founders Anthony Bell and John Baritelle moved to their operation to Yountville.
Jessup Cellars
Jessup Cellars was founded in 1996 and uses grapes from Napa and Sonoma. Mark Jessup is the winemaker and has been involved in the wine industry for over 20 years. He began his career at Inglenook and also worked for Robert Mondavi.
Chanticleer
In 1994, George and Caddy Grodahl bought Morningside Vineyard in the Southern Napa Valley’s Yountville AVA. Originally planning on selling their grapes, the couple soon decided to produce their own wine under the Chanticleer label.
Goosecross Cellars
Goosecross Cellars is located in the eastern part of the Yountville wine region near the border of Stags Leap. The winery focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chenin Blanc.
Parador Cellars
Based in the town of Yountville, Parador Cellars makes a very popular, but unconventional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and Sangiovese. The winery was established by Steve Ventrello in 1998.
Kapcsándy Family Winery
Kapcsándy Family Winery is located on the Napa Valley floor in the Yountville AVA. This small, premium-quality producer has made only a few vintages, but has already garnered considerable acclaim.
