Oak Knoll Wineries (Back to overview)
There are currently 40 vineyard owners and 12 Oak Knoll wineries in Napa Valley. Local production is too diverse to be generalized. Over 30 non-resident wineries source grapes from Oak Knoll.
Robert Biale Vineyards
Biale Winery specializes in making single vineyard Zinfandels. They use grapes grown throughout California. Biale also makes several other varietals including Syrah, Sangiovese, and Barbera.
Trefethen Vineyards
Trefethen Vineyards is a large property located in the heart of the Oak Knoll AVA. Using only estate grown fruit, Trefethen Vineyards has a high degree of control over every aspect of the winemaking process.
Darioush Winery
Darioush Winery offers the visitor an unforgettable experience of quality wine and breath taking architecture. The Ancient Persian architecture of Darioush is quite striking, and their wine follows suit.
B Cellars
B Cellars was established in 2003 by Jim Borsack and Duffy Keys. Kirk Venge is the winemaker, bringing considerable experience and critical acclaim to his post. In 2005, Kirk was named “One of the Top 20 New Winemakers in the World” by Food and Wine Magazine.
Laird Family Estate
In 1970, Ken Laird purchased his first property in Napa Valley. It was a 70 acre, run-down parcel of land in Calistoga. Over 30 years later, the Laird Family is the largest vineyard owner in Napa with over 2,500 acres.
Andretti Winery
Mario Andretti is best known as a race car driver. But recently, he has gained recognition for his quality wine production in the Oak Knoll AVA of Napa Valley. Andretti’s Montana label is his signature wine.
Renard
Renard produces small amounts of hand-crafted Rhone wines from the Napa Valley. The winery makes Syrah, Grenache, Roussanne, Viognier, Tres Ninos (red blend), and a Syrah/Grenache/Viognier Rose.
Lewis Cellars
In 1992, Randy and Debbie Lewis established Lewis Cellars in the Oak Knoll AVA. The winery is located off of Big Ranch Road just north of the town of Napa. Randy and Debbie purchase grapes from several AVAs in Napa and Sonoma Counties.
Koves Newlan
Koves Newlan is a versatile producer that makes a range of wines from Cabernet Sauvignon to Riesling. The property is located in a transitional climate within the Napa Valley.
Brookdale Vineyards
Brookdale Vineyards is a Cabernet Sauvignon specialist based in the Oak Knoll AVA of Napa Valley. Owner Kristi Seitz works with winemaker Craig MacLean to produce a single distinguished wine.
13 Appellations
13 Appellations is a premium quality label that is located on Silverado Trail. Winemaker Steve Reynolds makes a red cuvee with grapes from several impressive Napa Valley vineyards.
Bighorn Cellars
Established by William Hill, Bighorn Cellars is located on Silverado Trail in the Oak Knoll AVA. Mr. Hill also owns William Hill Winery. He is an accomplished vintner and has been involved in the California wine industry for over 3 decades.
Luna Vineyards
Luna Vineyards is located on a prime piece of vineyard land along the south end of the Silverado Trial. Luna Vineyards uses organic farming methods in the vineyard.
Sedna
In 1988, Bill and Sally Bryant established Sedna in the Southern Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll AVA. The couple’s 16 acre estate property is named “Kate’s Vineyard” after their daughter.
