There are many serious wineries located on the Napa Valley side of the Carneros AVA. This is one of the first places in California that Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were taken seriously.

Domaine Carneros

Domaine Carneros is an impressive winery located just off the Carneros Highway. It is one of the best sparkling wine producers in America. Eileen Crane is the head winemaker.

Artesa Winery

In 1997, Codorniu Napa was renamed Artesa Winery. The Codorniu Family has been making wine for an astounding 15 generations. Their philosophy is, "Our roots are in Carneros, but our reach is long."

Saintsbury

Saintsbury founders David Graves and Richard Ward were pioneers in Carneros. They were among the first to experiment with different Pinot Noir clones. Saintsbury’s Pinot Noir Vineyard Series is a collection of several single vineyard Pinots from some of the best properties in Carneros.

Ancien Wines

Ancien Wines is a boutique producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They source grapes from high-end vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Santa Barbara. Each bottling is designed to express the unique characteristics of the local region.

Etude Wines

Founded by Tony Soter, Etude Wines specializes in Pinot Noir but also produces several Bordeaux grapes. Soter's winery is located near the Napa River in the Carneros wine region.

Acacia Winery

Acacia Winery is located on Las Amigas Road in Southern Carneros near the San Pablo Bay. The winery grows Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on its 150 acre vineyard and also buys grapes from other growers.

Ceja Vineyards

Ceja Vineyards is located on the Napa side of the Carneros AVA, but the winery makes wine from Napa and Sonoma County grapes. They are best known for Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Chardonnay.

In 1989, McKenzie Mueller Vineyards and Winery was established by Karen McKenzie and Bob Mueller. They currently produce 2,500 cases of wine a year in the Napa Valley side of the Carneros AVA.

Bouchaine Vineyards is a 100 acre property located in the eastern part of Carneros. Gerret and Tatiana Copeland are the owners of this historic property. They take particular pride in using environmentally sensitive farming techniques on their land.

Casa Carneros is a tiny producer that prides itself on Pinot Noir and Merlot. These wines truly have personality; you can taste the passion of the owners in each sip. The 7 acre Casa Carneros Vineyard is owned by Melissa Moravec and Kurt Reaume. There are few more attentive custodians of the land than this couple.

Carneros Creek Winery - Mahoney Vineyards

In 1972, Carneros Creek Winery was established by Francis and Kathy Mahoney. They set out to produce Pinot Noir that could compete with Burgundy. Since then, they have been one of the pioneers in the AVA's re-birth.

Patz & Hall

In 1988, Patz & Hall was established in the Carneros wine region. The winery sources Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from several parts of California including Napa Valley, Russian River Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino County.
