Carmel Valley Wineries (Back to overview)

The Carmel Valley AVA has a number of outstanding wineries and vineyards within its borders. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown in more coastal parts of the region, and Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are planted more inland.
Bernardus Winery
Bernardus Winery is located in the heart of Carmel Valley and produces a number of premium quality wines. Owner Ben Pon’s goal is to produce wines that rival their traditional, Old World counterparts.
Heller Estate Vineyards
Heller Estate is perched high above the Carmel Valley floor in the Cachuaga region. Their mountain vineyards are certified organic. Neither herbicides nor pesticides are used in the vineyards.
Galante Vineyards
Galante Vineyards has developed a reputation for very good Cabernet Sauvignon. The rich history of the Galante Family mirrors the complexity of their estate wines.
Joullian Vineyards
Located in the heart of Carmel Valley, Joullian Vineyards has had quite a bit of success with Merlot. The winery began as a joint venture between the Joullian and Siss Families of Oklahoma City.

Rosella's Vineyard really is a phenomenal piece of property, and Ben Pon doesn't cut any corners in his winemaking.

There's more to Carmel than shopping and golf. It's great to get out into the valley and explore the wineries. I especially enjoyed Bernardus Winery. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. The Rosella's Vineyard pinot noir was excellent.
