Arroyo Seco Wineries (Back to overview)
There are a handful of Arroyo Seco wineries owned by dedicated individuals. Vineyards grown in the western hills of this AVA produce the most distinctive wines. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are best suited to the region, but Bordeaux and Rhone varietals are also planted in warmer microclimates.

Jekel Vineyards
Founded in 1972, Jekel Vineyards was one of the first wineries in Monterey County to produce high quality wines. Mr. Jekel takes meticulous care in only planting grapes that are well suited to the specific climate and terrain of different parts of his property.

Ventana Vineyards
Ventana Vineyards produces several award winning, estate wines. Calling Douglas Meador an innovator would be an understatement; he is more of a visionary.
