Potter Valley Wineries (Back to overview)

Although there are no wineries in Potter Valley, there are some impressive vineyards that provide grapes for premium wineries. Chateau Montelena sources Riesling from Potter Valley. Riesling is a difficult grape in the vineyard, but it is planted in moderate microclimates that allow it to ripen slowly.

Blue Oak Vineyards

Blue Oak Vineyards is located on a 160 acre property in the Potter Valley. Its 108 acres of vineyards is planted with several different varietals. Several creeks run through this beautiful property.

Iron Oak Vineyard

Bill Domenichelli owns Iron Oak Vineyard in Potter Valley. His vines are grown in red, oxidized soil. They only yield about two to three tons per acre.

    Potter Valley is one of California's least appreciated AVA's to date, so maybe, since there's only around 1,000 planted acres, we should just keep it that way and enjoy the wines for those who know about it...never mind!
